Step 2: Navigate to the Terminals section on the left menu Step 3: Click on the terminal lane that you would like to configure Step 4: The POS Settings will appear, which is primary menu for your terminal's configurations |
From this menu, the following configurations can be changed:
- Operational Mode
- Tap Amount Presets (Standalone only)
- Custom Banner (Standalone only)
- QR Code Receipt Prompt
- Custom Tap Amount (Standalone only)
- Maximum Tap Amount (Standalone only)
Configuration changes (except for the QR code receipt prompt & the maximum tap amount) will preview changes on the terminal image on the right.
Operational Mode
Operational mode is used to determine how transactions are started with the Smart Wash Terminal.
If the terminal is connected to a ANZTEC machine (automatic wash bay), you will need to set this to Integrated mode.
If the terminal connects to a wash or vacuum bay, you will need to set this to Standalone mode.
Click here to learn more about Operational Modes!
Tap Amount Presets (Standalone only)
When a user interacts with the Smart Wash terminal, they will see the transaction screen which consists of 4 transaction amounts.

These amounts can be changed to any whole dollar amount from $1 to $99 AUD. You can choose to display between 1-4 tap amounts on the terminal by completing the following:
- To display 1 tile, set all four amounts to the same value (e.g. $2)
- To display 2 tiles, set three amounts to the same value and another to a different value (e.g. three amounts of $2, one amount of $3)
- To display 3 tiles, set two amounts to the same value, with values 3 and 4 being different values (e.g. two amounts of $2, one amount of $3, one amount of $4)
- To display 4 tiles, set all four amounts to different values (e.g. $1, $2, $3, $4)

Additionally, each of these tiles can be allocated a colour; you may either enter a hexadecimal for that colour, or click on the text field to open a colour picker.

Custom Banner (Standalone only)
A custom banner may be uploaded which can represent your business branding on the transaction screen! To activate this, toggle the Enable Custom Header configuration option.
Enabling this option will prompt for an image, using a 480 px x 135 px size. You may either drag an image file onto this box or click on browse to find the image in your local file directory.
Please note that the file must be in one of the following formats:
- .jpg
- .jpeg
- .bmp
- .png (used for images with transparency)

QR Code Receipt Prompt
Turning this setting on will enable a customer to choose to receive a QR code receipt at the end of a transaction. Please click here for further details.
Custom Tap Amount (Standalone only)
Turning this setting on will enable the customer to choose to enter a custom amount, not just the 4 Tap Amount Presets. Please click here for further details.
Maximum Tap Amount (Standalone only)
This is the maximum amount that a customer can purchase with a transaction. By default, the maximum amount is $99, this limit cannot be exceeded on the Smart Wash terminal.
If the maximum tap amount is lowered, individual tap amount presets and custom amounts cannot exceed this value.
Surcharge (Standalone only)
Surcharge can be applied to different card schemes (Mastercard, VISA, eftpos, etc.) as an amount or a rate for all transactions.

Logo and Screensaver
The Smart Wash terminal can utilise your business's branding through the use of a logo and screensaver.
If you would like to apply branding to your terminal, please contact Quest Support.
Logo
A full screen still image can be displayed on a Smart Wash terminal whilst it's in an idle state.
The top edge of the display is reserved for the terminal’s status bar. As a result, the top edge of the logo image will be covered by 38 pixels.
To best convey your brand or message, centralise the information and avoid the edges of the display. A 50-pixel margin is a good guide.
Requirement | Specification |
---|---|
Image Orientation | Portrait |
Resolution (Pixels) | 480 px wide x 640 px high |
Colour Mode | RGB, 24-bit |

Transparent Logo Files
It is highly recommended that you don't use an .png with transparency for the logo, as you will see the transaction screen underneath and it may appear to be messy.
Screensaver
A full screen screensaver video can be displayed on a Smart Wash terminal whilst it has been idle for the set time (click here for further details).
Once the screensaver begins to play, it will loop until interrupted with a button press or tapping the screen.
