Network Configuration
Your terminal must connect to the internet in order to process transactions and receive updates. Your terminal will be shipped with SIM installed and cellular enabled. You do not need to do anything to connect to the cellular 4G network.
When setting up your terminal for the first time, it's required that you connect to a Wi-Fi network (rather than relying on the 4G network). Using a Wi-Fi connection will allow the terminal to update its software and configuration quickly and helps keep the cost of your 4G SIM down as software updates aren’t utilising the cellular network.
To access the communication setting of the terminal, you will need a Merchant Passcode. Your Merchant Passcode restricts who can change terminal settings, including how the terminal connects to the internet.
How to Find my Merchant Passcode
Your Merchant Passcode is used to restrict access to your terminal’s configuration settings. The Passcode is set on the Cloud EFTPOS Web Portal. The initial Merchant Passcode is found in the terminal package. For further details, click here.
No Network Alert
If the terminal is NOT connected to a local or mobile cellular network, the following alerts will be displayed.
Only Displayed in Standalone Mode
The warning shown below displays in standalone mode, so this warning won't be displayed if the terminal is integrated to an ANZTEC machine.

Cellular Mobile Network
Tip
Connecting to a Mobile network is only possible if a SIM card is fitted.
Note: You can check your local area coverage using the Optus website. https://www.optus.com.au/about/network/coverage
SIM Card
A SIM card is fitted into the terminal by Quest before delivery to you.
If the terminal successfully connects to cellular, the cellular symbol (📶) will be visible in the status bar on the top of the screen. This confirms that a SIM card is installed and operating correctly. If cellular reception is poor, you may need to operate the terminal in another location, or use Wi-Fi communication instead.
If you need to change the SIM card, contact support.
